3/9/2007 Dallas, TX – GamersTube.com, a video game video hosting website, has reached a milestone of over 100,000 video views since January 1st 2008 when the site was opened up to the public.
The websites rapid popularity growth can be partly accredited to their HD quality video hosting. Users have uploaded and watched hundreds of videos, all gaming or video gaming related in the past 69 days.
Taking Notice
The guys behind Pirates, Vikings and Knights II (www.pvkii.com) – a hugely popular Half Life 2 Mod – used GamersTube.com to host the trailer to their mod in high quality. The video is currently the most popular PC Game Trailer on the site.
Aaron “APOC” Kaufman from EA Games (Command & Conquer) called GamersTube.com “Pretty Awesome” and “Impressive”.
Gamers and Publishers aren’t the only ones who are taking notice of the level of video quality presented by GamersTube.com to the video gaming community. Mike Hudack, co-founder and CEO of Blip.tv, recently blogged about video game video hosting sites and in the blog recommended that gamers upload videos to the site saying “[It’s] certainly worth checking out”.
Smaller RSS news feed sites are also jumping on board. Sites like VideoToss.com, VideoGameNews.ws and FreeMMORPG.us – all rss feed aggregators – are helping spread the game videos around the internet.
